Unfortunately, you cant just change between card as easy as just surfing channels.

OK. The workaround (mapping your remote to switch) is probably acceptable. I suppose Myth could be enhanced so one could create a map config file that pointed channels to sources...

Channel 2 - PVR250
Channel 3 - PVR250
Channel 4 - Air2PC
Channel 5 - PVR250

...when 'surfing' a lookup would be performed during each channel change event and the source could be auto switched within Myth.

Hopefully itll be possible at some point to just browse the EPG on TV and when you choose a channel on a different tuner, itll switch automagically.

OK. This, however, is just how your system works right? If you had another PVR250 you wouldn't be forced to switch to the OTA HDTV receiver...right? You would simply use the other available PVR250 to 'Watch Live TV' while the other recorded.

Correct, that was in terms of my system and cards. If you setup PVR-250 as Card #1, then PVR-250 as card #2, itll switch to that. Whatever card is next. Keep that in mind when your in the setup screen defining card inputs i.e. that you want a PVR-250 as card #1, then you want the next PVR-250 as card #2.

This info. really helps out Tom. Ultimately, I'd like to build a system that uses two analog video capture devices and two OTA HDTV receivers. I'm thinking this setup will allow me to...

Watch Live TV from analog source while recording analog source
Watch Live TV from analog source while recording HDTV source
Watch Live TV from HDTV while recording HDTV source
Watch Live TV from HDTV while recording analog source

...what do you think? Maybe too ambitious? I don't even have a Linux machine yet!

Thanks,
J

Should be fine. Get ready for a nice bit o learning. Surprising how much you can cram in your head when its for a hobby. Have fun and glad I could help.
