Sasha, I have the exact same problem as you. the sound only works after changing the channel, which is impossible for recordings . I have a stop-gap solution, but I don't know why it works. After futzing around, I figured out that, if I do:
> depmod -a and then reboot, the sound works fine. But if I forget to do the depmod before I reboot/shut down, then the sound doesn't work for recording, etc., after booting up. The fact that depmod helps leads me to believe that the problem lies with loading of one of the modules (ivtv most likely). The sound modules might be a problem, but this happens for me using both the integrated sound and the soundblaster card in my system. For some reason, i remember somebody mentioning that upgrading to kernel 2.6.10 might help. I'm going to try that this weekend. I have no clue what real problem is, but if you ever figure out the solution, can you post it here? - emory FYI, here's my configuration: myth CVS 1/22/05 (pretty similar to 0.17 i think) FC2 a la Jarod Wilson/ATRPMs kernel 2.6.9smp Pundit-R (w/ ATI 9100 IGP, with working tv out) Celeron D 330 PVR 250 Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 (needed b/c of prebuffering pauses) Seagate Barracuda 120 GB On Sat, 12 Feb 2005 15:27:04 -0500, Sasha Z <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Interesting, I have exactly the opposite problem.
