Im thinking of purchasing the pundit-r for my mbe and mfe. It sounds like it will be some work, but the newer hardware will work in linux. Plus I figure the hardware support with only get better with time.
That said, does the ATI do interlaced output and overscan (with the hexedit driver)? It sounds like its a better bet in the long run over the SiS card.
Hi,
I also have a pundit-r and yes, it was quite some work getting it to work. The 3.12 fglrx patched driver does support this, but it took me some time to figure out it was this driver I needed. I can send it to you, if you need it. I also read that Xfree 4.4 supports TV out on the ATI card, but have no idea what the quality is. The fglrx driver does NOT support any 3d acceleration for the 9100 IGP card, so glrxgears will not work or give a very poor rating at best.
The networkcard is also not supported by linux versions under 2.6.8, just as the hd controller.
I'm running slackware 10.0 (10.1) with the 2.6.10 kernel pathced with v4l, with the patched fglrx 3.12 driver and myth is runnig excellent.
Berend.
