Yes, the problem does look to be caused by the .ISO extension in upper case. When I renamed the ".ISO" to ".iso" the movie plays fine. Thanks!

However when I try to play any unencrypted DVD ISO image from the video storage group, it crashes the Mythtv frontend. I have no problems playing the same ISO images outside of the storage group from a NFS mount. This is 100% recreatable on both my frontend machines. The ISO images were created using DVD Shrink. I am using Mythbuntu 10.10 with the 0.24 Mythbuntu repos. I have an apport report for the crash but cannot upload it due to I think bug 95822 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/95822).
