Hello Rmck, If your mysql uses openssl static libraries, then you must rebuild your mysql with new openssl libraries. If mysql uses dynamic openssl libraries then no need to rebuild your mysql.
Use "ldd" command to your mysql binaries to check the openssl library type. If it uses dynamic libraries then it will show the openssl libraries in "ldd" command output.
