Hello all... I'm new to the list and to MySql and would like to get some advice on approaching my first mysql install. I've just installed Apache ver2.0.39 onto my W2K server and I'm currently attempting to get PHP4 going. Can anyone provide me with some ideas on how to approach the mysql install? Is it anything like installing SQL 2000? Or should I treat it like Apache and approach it with a Linux Unix mentality? Which version should I choose? Let me say that I am still navigating my way through the mysql site, so I'm pretty sure that I'll eventually come across the answer to some of these questions. I'm mainly looking for hands on experience. Thanks in advance.
