I installed one version of MySQL but had to reinstall MySQL. Thus, I manually deleted the first installation, including /tmp/mysql.sock.
The second installation mysteriously did not install another copy of mysql.sock. Gerry-mandering the configuration through the following line avails nothing: ./configure --with-unix-socket-path=/tmp/mysql.sock Can someone inform me of how I might automatically/manually install mysql.sock?
