I've made a few config changes (examples below) in the my.ini except the server constantly utilizes 66 meg of memory total (Including OS) and I never see mysql memory usage go any higher than 12-13 meg of memory usage no matter how much strain I put on the machine. I do not believe these new settings are taking affect... and I would assume I will need to restart the server? Is there another way to load the new settings without taking the server down?
The machine has 512Meg currently and is dedicated for Databases only...I want to get full performance out of the machine... set-variable = sort_buffer=8M set-variable = record_buffer=4M set-variable = table_cache=256 set-variable = key_buffer=128M Any help is appreciated. Thank You in advance...
