I have a text file that is fixed-width delimited (that is, fields are delimited by certain column widths.) I have encountered the problem listed in the manual entry for LOAD DATA INFILE as:
Fixed-size rows (FIELDS TERMINATED BY and FIELDS ENCLOSED BY both empty) and BLOB or TEXT columns. Basically, what happens is that MySQL truncates the import at 255 characters. What is the workaround for this? Will importing large files work if I have tab-delimited rows? If so, what is the procedure to convert from fixed-width delimited to tab-delimited?
