Username you can get it from the user table in Mysql. But I don't think atleast after MySQL 4.1 there is a way to retrieve paswords in MySQL as it uses its own encryption algo to encrypt passwords. You have to reset(make that passwd field to null in the mysql.user table) and add a new password(use grant) to use that.
