mysql_config is usually shipped with binary and source distributions 

or devel rpms (for SuSE on x86 it is "SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9

(x86) - Headers and libraries"). See:



[EMAIL PROTECTED] mysqls]$ rpm -qlp

MySQL-devel-standard-4.1.12-0.sles9.i586.rpm |grep mysql_config

/usr/bin/mysql_config
