Hi!
You have allocated half of RAM for a key_buffer. It is allocated
entirely on mysqld startup.
You have set high sort and record buffer, and every single query that
needs them allocates them on startup and frees them on exit. So if you
have lot's of simultaneous queries running you can have lot's of
memory used up.
