Others in this thread have already addressed your question, but I wanted to mention that redundant keys can often be re-mapped to macros and other mutt commands. There are many keys that do nothing in mutt, and/or you might not need for your specific configuration. These can then be remapped into more useful keybindings. I encourage you to consider what keys are redundant, and then remap them to make them more useful.
