Oh, I am sorry to hear that. I tested it on my side before and it piped a lot from the redirected stream into the file. Here again: --- paste: bastian@t6l ~ 1981% mutt > /dev/shm/o *blindly pressing q* bastian@t6l ~ 1982% wc /dev/shm/o 1 599 6251 /dev/shm/o --- eop The file /dev/shm/o contains lots and lots of control characters. So this would be another task to get them stripped; less -r does it. -- Bastian
