You're on vacation. You probably didn't bring a laptop, because... you're on vacation. You go out and leave your phone somewhere, never to be seen again. Now what? This happened to me. It's the biggest reason I hate that Google has become so insistent on 2FA. In this situation--just when you need it most--you completely lose access to your google accounts, until you return home.
