I've documented my attachment opening setup here: https://wtf.hijacked.us/wiki/index.php/Mutt#Open_attachments_on_remote_machine It allows me to open the attachment menu (v) and press A on any attachment to open it remotely on my desktop (using xdg-open). This also works for HTML bodies and attachments, so it solves the HTML mail problem for me also. -- Stian Sletner
