Hi everybody,

I'm new to Mutt and I'm trying to get emails from my yahoo IMAP account so I configured ~/.muttrc like this:

set folder=imaps://konrad.frede...@imap.mail.yahoo.com
set spoolfile=imaps://konrad.frede...@imap.mail.yahoo.com/INBOX
set header_cache=~/.mutt_headers

As a result I'm asked for the password when I launch `mutt`.
Then it starts downloading the email headers.. Then it fails after 5~6 minutes without having a chance of finishing to get the headers.

The end of the debug log says the following:

I tried to add the following lines in the config file but it didn't change anything:

set imap_keepalive = 60
set imap_idle=yes

I've ~30K emails on this account is that the issue?
Any idea how I can fix that?

Thanks,
Fred

Maybe there is a problem with the new security that yahoo has put in place. If you go to account info on the yahoo UI - bottom of the list is 'allow apps that use less secure sign in'... move the bar to 'yes' if on 'no'. Also what ports are you using - 993 and 465 are what I use.

Hi James,

Thanks for your help. I had this less secure sign in option activated.
For the port seems to be 993.

Thing is.. It start to get the header, I see the number increasing.. But 5/6 minutes later at 11000/30000 emails it just stops and the server logs out.

Fred

Not really much help - it was just an idea having had the sign in issue myself with yahoo. Your problem is too technical for me I think.
