I just turned on pager_index_lines for the first time, partly because I wanted to test if it had any bearing on this issue (but it isn't the only reason). The answer is no, it still happens, and when it happens it wipes _both_ parts of the screen (both the pager and the mini-index). Only the top menu/help bar and the lone (orphan?) prompt on bottom remains. -- Please *no* private copies of mailing list or newsgroup messages.
