May I remind that the poster does not send the [list-tag]?
The message is auto-munged in transit by the list server.
Eliding the interloper merely restores end-to-end veracity.

It is well worth avoiding ending up with the header line:
Subject: "[list-tag] Re: [list-tag] Re: [list-tag] Some Guff"
after a reply or two.

In any event, the "formail -i" archives the incoming subject as the
header line "Old-Subject", so it's still there for hysterical raisins,
should we fear offending the list admin's feelings. ( -I if you don't
care)

Mind you, badgering the list admin till the bad practice is stopped can
also work, and for my money, it is a good solution.

For every other case, I can only share your view.
