Thank you for the quick response. The first solution is the closest to
what I want. I cannot foresee a case where I will have skipped past a
few messages before I decide to delete the rest.

The second one will require me to work out how many days worth of e-mails
I want to keep, and I a cannot guarantee to get that right when I have to
start using my toes, hence the original question.
