According to the webpage for the mutt sidebar patch [0]:

# which mailboxes to list in the sidebar
mailboxes =inbox =ml

You can also "subscribe" to the folder in IMAP terms and it will show up
in the sidebar since you have imap_check_subscribed set to yes.
