The mbox variable can also be used for automatic moving of read emails.
For example I am by default putting read email in Archive folder for
each specific account and this is specified by different mboxe. Then I
delete emails that I will *never* need again.

You can  also check the move variable for this setup - it is set to yes
in my muttrc
