I'm afraid I have to agree; when using mutt on the server I always prefer it to read from the maildirs, rather than connecting to the IMAP server. Anway there's no need. IMAP in my opinion is there so you can read mail remotely. I've i'm working on the server machine, i'm not working remotely so it's unnecessary. header caching works for local maildirs as well. But hey! each to their own as they say. It's nice to have those choices available.
