The problem is on the sending side; the MIME headers in the e-mail are
wrong. Mutt won't use mailcap to decide the type of attachments; it
uses the MIME headers in the e-mail. Did you send it *from* mutt? If
so, try it again. Does it still produce the same results? If not,
the problem is with your sending mail client.

I used T-bird to send this attachment to myself from the same computer.
When I use T-bird and receive with T-bird I get the same:

So there is something wrong with T-bird.
