I originally tried with the 'installed' version of postfix. I got to the point where I could send mail but it was being sent directly to the machine, not to the mail server on my domain hoster. Then I tried the macports version and things went south from there. Then, I uninstalled it. Thus, perhaps the inference that I am still using the macports version. (corruption?)
