I don't think I made any change to my mutt config that corresponded with the occurrence of this problem. Here's my status_format line from my muttrc: set status_format="%f: %m messages (%l)%?n?, %n new?%?V?, %M (%L) matching \"%V\"?. %> %?b? %b other mailboxes have new mail!? %v"
