ok thanks, I get that much. But how do you exit the directory list? Hitting <enter> goes into that directory - this is how I navigate from ~/ down until the desired directory is reached. Hitting q exits the directory list but the selection is not maintained. I should mention this is with Mutt 1.5.9i (2005-03-13) Perhaps it is not possible to do what I want?
