How do you close your screen session? I always quit all mutt instances, which automatically quits screen, and each mutt instance syncs the mailbox before closing, so that your problem does not occur. If you kill screen in another way, the mutt instances may not have the chance to sync their mailboxes, so you'd have to sync them manually. (In my setup this can be done with 'x', but I vaguely remember rebinding it, so that may not be the default key for syncing...) -- Joost Kremers Life has its moments
