Isn't mutt compressing the headers? I would suggest to POP it and deal with those large list locally. I know there is a very noticeable difference in opening the Debian-users list mailbox now that I've left IMAP for POP. at about ~7000 mails mutt would take 2-3 seconds to open fetch and sort the mailbox while using IMAP.. It's nearly instant now with mail kept locally. - -- Daryl Styrk Naples, FL USA -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) iEYEARECAAYFAkoijxIACgkQ6baBhW8CzriEkQCfRrNG7FuHNHjLZ4s0FN/zX20k KA0AmwfeUuiMFSmghnuIFMe4IkEHyQEa =mkHH -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
