Hmm never seen errors like these, but I'm using pretty much your setup.
muttrc:
set mbox_type=Maildir
set folder=~/Maildir
set spoolfile=~/Maildir
set trash=+trash
set record=+sent
set postponed=+postponed
mailboxes +spam +inbox +sent ...
.procmailrc starts with:
MAILDIR=$HOME/Maildir/
The MDA part of my getmailrc files (I use `getmail -r <rc-file1> -r <rc-file2>
...` to fetch mail from several POP3 accounts):
[destination]
type = MDA_external
arguments = ("-f", "%(sender)")
path = /usr/bin/procmail
