What do you mean by "remains intact"?
To get this right, when I bounce this e-mail:

From:   [EMAIL PROTECTED]
To:             [EMAIL PROTECTED]
CC:             [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED]

then the header of the bounced e-mail is:

From:   [EMAIL PROTECTED]
To:             [EMAIL PROTECTED]
CC:             [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED]

so that the recipients [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED] get the
e-mail twice?
