Hmmm. That's rather odd. Did you compile mutt yourself? I've
occasionally had weird problems with mutt that were solved by doing a
make clean && make install.
If that doesn't fix it (or if you didn't compile it yourself), I'd say
try running mutt with debugging output (-d 2) and post the resulting
~/.muttdebug0 file somewhere that people can see it. It should help
give some idea how mutt got to that particular conclusion.
