Lukas -- ...and then Lukas Ruf said... % % Dear all, % % I make use of mutt 1.4i. When I enter a mailbox the already-processed % messages are collapsed. This works as expected: all messages % in the collapsed thread are tagged.
Yep. That's specifically a thread operation, so that's why it works (or so I understand). % % However, when I want to save the tagged messages into another mailbox, % only the first message of the collapsed thread gets saved and marked % as deleted; all the other of the collapsed thread(s) remain correclty % tagged but do not get handled. Right; that's a normal operation, and items in a collapsed thread are hidden from normal operations (or, again, so I understand). % % Do I make any mistake when I press ";s" (in accordance with the % configuration of my keybindings) and expect all the tagged, also the I don't think it's a bug, since as I understand it that's the way mutt is programmed, so the only mistake is in your expectation :-) % collapsed ones, messages to be handled? If yes, how can I save also % collapsed messages and tagged messages into another mailbox without % uncollapsing them? This is much the same as what I wanted to do in my "tricky limiting" thread a while back, where some workarounds were proposed but, like for you, there wasn't a particularly easy answer. You might check the archives for ideas, though. Once you have all of the messages tagged, a very fast way to get to all of them without disturbing your state of collapse (what if some threads are collapsed and some open? esc-V and esc-V will then collapse all of them, which can be a bummer) is to simply change your sort order to "unsorted", tag-save all of your messages wherever you wish, and then change your sort order back to "threads". You'll then have a bunch of collapsed threads full of deleted messages, and a sync will clean them out (be sure to re-sort BEFORE syncing or, I believe, upon resorting all of your [remaining] threads will be expanded). % % Thanks for any hint, % % Lukas HTH & HAND :-D -- David T-G * It's easier to fight for one's principles (play) [EMAIL PROTECTED] * than to live up to them. -- fortune cookie (work) [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.justpickone.org/davidtg/ Shpx gur Pbzzhavpngvbaf Qrprapl Npg!
