When displaying a message, yes. Documentation says it's used whenever Mutt need information about a public key. So I don't know wether other situations may occur. This seems not to be the case. After looking at the sample rc files comming with mutt, it seems that it is only required for pgp6 users. Maybe drop a note somewhere? Cheers, Rocco
