Because not everyone finds them useful, and Mutt is designed to be small
and fast for all users above being feature-ful for all users.  Mutt is also
designed as a mailer for experts, and as such lends itself well to a
patch-smorgasboard style of use.

Also, at this stage Mutt 1.2 has been out for a very long time, Mutt 1.3
has been stable for a long time, and it probably makes more sense for the
developers to feature-freeze and get 1.4 out the door than introduce a lot
of new stuff to destabalize it again.  1.5 will be a whole new game.
