My mailcap contains the following entries: text/html; links %s; nametemplate=%s.html text/html; links -dump %s; nametemplate=%s.html; copiousoutput I have auto_view text/html set, too. This makes it possible that html emails are displayed in the pager, and when I view an html attachment (i.e. through the <view-attachments> menu; this could very well be the body of that same message), links is fired up.
