Hi, Something very weird happened today, and I don't know if it is a hassle with my ncurses or mutt.
Firstly, my mailcap file has these lines : text/html; konqueror %s; test=runningX.sh text/html; w3m -T text/html %s text/html; lynx -dump -force_html %s;copiousoutput As you can see, I run a test to check if X is running, and accordingly call a browser to view text/html files. I have also set mutt to auto_view text/html files. Now, what happened is this : I accidently did 'chmod u-x runningX.sh', and ran mutt. When I opened an html mail, the entire screen suddenly jumped, and the entire display got warped. When I set the executable permission for runningX.sh, it worked perfectly. But, because the display got warped I was unable to decipher that the problem lay in the mailcap test (I finally found out by sheer luck) Now, what I want to know is this : * Why did the test run, when the only mailcap line it should look at is the one with 'copiousoutput', and that doesn't have a test ? * Why did the display jump like that ? I hope I have been lucid enough. Here are my settings : $ mutt -v Mutt 1.3.23.2i (2001-11-08) Copyright (C) 1996-2001 Michael R. Elkins and others.
