For some reason mutt has suddenly stopeed detecting new mail coming
into just one of several mbox format mailboxes. I have mail delivered
to a number of places by procmail and the following line in my muttrc
file sets them all up as places where new mail can arrive:-

    mailboxes `echo ~/Mail/.in/*` `echo ~/Mail/.li/*`

This has worked quite happily for months (years even) but suddenly a
couple of days ago new mail arriving in just *one* file is no longer
being detected. It's the default ~/Mail/.in/inbox file which is
rather annoying. Because it's where quite a lot of mail arrives most
days I noticed quite quickly and checked the mailbox manually so
didn't miss anything important.

However I still can't get it working again, I can't see anything
that's changed. How does mutt detect new mail in a mailbox?
