Thanks. In meantime I found this solution, which at least seems
to work. I have in my ~/.vimrc this (I have added the second
autocmd line):

if has("autocmd")
  filetype plugin indent on
   autocmd FileType text setlocal textwidth=65
   autocmd FileType mail setlocal textwidth=65
  autocmd BufReadPost *
    \ if line("'\"") > 0 && line("'\"") <= line("$") |
    \   exe "normal g`\"" |
    \ endif
endif " has("autocmd")

Hopefully, it is gonna to work. However, thanks for your help.
