hrmm that's the verbatim error i got....

w/r/t glibc it's libc-2.1.3 on debian linux with an old (2.2.14) kernel.
it's on intel (i686) hardware.

i guess i assumed that having iconv was the same as having libiconv;
i'll try installing libiconv and building with that next time i build
mutt.
