This works for me under 1.3.19, but it's not immediately obvious that it
worked: the whole thread is flagged, but it remains tagged, so the '!'
indicator is not visible. After untagging the thread, it's plain that
everything worked. I no longer have a working 1.2.5, so I can't compare,
but maybe you have the same obstacle.
