Hello!

I am new to mutt and have some questions I did not get answered while
reading the Manual at www.mutt.org.

I use mutt 1.3.9i to read emails at my university.
I have to connect to an Cyrus IMAP server with imaps (IMAP with SSL).

I know that mutt beeps when new email arrives, but if I do not hear the
beep, I have to look at the index to see that I got new email.
I have been using xbiff in a corner of my display to check if I got
new email since now, so if did not hear the beep I could still see
that I got new email. I would like to have something similar now that
I have to use mutt to connect to the new IMAP server, but I am not
sure if it is possible.
I thought that I could tell mutt to automatically download any new
email from the server to my mbox mailbox (a file in my home directory)
using the "save-hook" configuration command, so I could check that
file with xbiff, but it is not working (maybe it is not possible at
all). Can anyone tell if I can do it? Or maybe another way to be
informed if I got new email in case I did not hear the beep and I am
not looking at the index?

Thanks in advance.
