Installing XFree86 would a bit of an overkill ;-).  Just go to
dickey.his.com and download the latest xterm source and compile it.  I
used the following command once I had untarred the source...

./configure --prefix=<my base dir> --disable-tek4014 --disable-vt52
--disable-input-method --with-own-terminfo=<my base dir>/share/terminfo

make && make install && make install-ti

Takes a only a few minutes on a yummy Sun SPARC Ultra 5, 400Mhz, 256Mb...
