Don't know whether this helps:
I have, for example, aliases "BobM" amd "BobP";
if I type "Bo<TAB>" at the "To: " prompt, I get
"Bob"; I hit "<RETURN>" and get:
BobM [EMAIL PROTECTED]
BobP [EMAIL PROTECTED]
and I select the one I want.
