The default /usr/local/etc/Muttrc has a macro that shows the manual on
<f1>.  However Mutt might not recognize the key you pressed as <f1>, if
your $TERM is wrong, or your terminfo database does not match the actual
terminal.  This was recently discussed on this list (on the thread with
subject `Some small problems...').
