The compressed folder patch should not be used on incoming folders
that receive mails. This patch is mostly useful for archives. And for
archives I don't think there's any advantage of using maildir over
mbox, which loads faster. So IMHO if you want to archive mails, you'd
probably better off saving them in a compressed mbox.
I don't even think the patch works for maildirs.
