This is what I tried before with unsuccessful results, which prompted me
to post to the list. After thinking about the sequence though, there's
no '\n' after the 'm' for mail. This was getting the "To:" prompt,
hitting enter which canclled the command, and the list alias name was
being interperated as a command.
