That's unlikely, I think Mutt uses usually an external regexp library
anyway which means that any such trouble would not be related to the
Mutt version rather than the library.
For debuggin, you may actually want to look at the $reply_regexp value
with
:set ?reply_regexp
or
:set reply_regexp=<TAB>
... to see if you've gotten all the \'s right, those can really be a
pain sometimes.
