Hi,

since some months I am using mutt with slang.

>From time to time when displaying large messages, the highlighted status
line (as in

- S - 2/3: Christian v. Mueffli biff for mh style maildir -- (74%)

) gets corrupted. This does not stop usage of elm, but looks strange :-)

> [...] 81 Russ Allbery 76

It seems only the percentage count to the right and some part of the message
count is correct (81 is part of 5581/5586) in the example shown.
Some parts of this or other status lines are displayed in the line below the
status line.

(Sorry, I don't know how to reproduce the highlighting in a text mail :-)

I have tried
mutt-1.0.1i and mutt-1.1.12i
with
slang-1.3.10 and slang-1.4.1
and the effect is the same. I do run HP-UX 10.20 and use dtterm as well as
xterm or vt100 or kvt when dialed in from home.

* I have been using ncurses before without remembering such effects for quite
a long time. I did switch to slang, since ncurses made trouble when used
via slogin from home (linux with kvt) and the pageup/pagedown keys.
* I also use slrn and have never seen an effect like this.

Any ideas on what to do? (I am not even sure whether this is a mutt or an
slang problem.)

Many thanks in advance,
        Lutz
