% OK, I'm prepared to be ashamed of a FAQ/RTFM, but I made a good-faith

Good for you!

% alias joe Joe Smith <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
% alias joe.jones Joe Jones <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
%
% This results in mutt knowing just one alias, the shorter one (joe in
% this case) but whose value is the value from the longer one (Joe Jones
% in this case).
%
% Is this a bug?
I have to think so. I whipped up a quick test
alias testme <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (testme alias comment)
alias testme.again <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (more alias testing)
to try it, and both of the aliases were recognized properly both from the
alias selection menu (m -> te -> <tab>) as well as when entered manually.
